Award winning independent Scottish craft brewer, Innis & Gunn, has launched its latest limited edition beer; Hopped Bourbon Cask Ale.
A first of its kind for the brewery, the Imperial Red Ale has been dry hopped while maturing in hand-selected, first fill bourbon casks. This barrel maturation adds extra depth and dimensions to the beers unique flavour.
Brewed using a highly aromatic eclectic blend of Ahtanum, Hallertau Hersbrucker and Super Styrian hops, the Hopped Bourbon Cask Ale has a distinctive citrus flavour profile, with notes of Turkish Delight, dried cherries and lychees also coming through. The selected blend of highly aromatic, yet unexpected, subtle hops, work in harmony alongside the hop bill and barrel maturation, with the three creating a beautiful balance.
